Seven dollars and sixty cents. That is the daily minimum to buy an ad inside ChatGPT in India from 4 September, and OpenAI's ad business is now running at a billion dollars annualized, two hundred days after its first sponsored placement.
Google spent the same week doing something adjacent. Search Console's AI reports went worldwide, showing impressions across AI Overviews and AI Mode with no click data attached. You can see that you appeared. You cannot see whether it mattered, and a regulator had to set March 2027 as the deadline for the other half.
Then the FTC sued Amazon over an auction mechanism that allegedly added more than twenty billion dollars to advertiser costs, and OpenAI told SpaceX it will cut Cursor off in November over an acquisition Cursor's users had no part in.
Different companies, same week, same move. Access to the answer, access to your own numbers, access to the model. All of it turned into something someone else prices, meters and grants.
Give your AI assistant a written correction log
Daniel Blum, a PM at Melio, turns Claude into a self-improving assistant with one mechanic. After a task, he asks it what it got wrong, then writes the correction into a persistent instructions file rather than into a chat message that disappears. The result is a system that stops repeating the same three mistakes, which is where most of the wasted time actually goes. Try it this week on one recurring task, a weekly report, a client update, a brief. Create one file called corrections, add a line every time an output misses, and load it at the start of each session until the tool holds it for you.
Happy Growth,
Dan
